Your gift to the Historic Evergreen Cemetery Veterans Monument and Veterans Yard project celebrates the legacy of all U.S. Veterans.
The 164-year old cemetery is already the final resting place for more than 1,000 Veterans. These Veterans served during times of peace, as well as in every conflict from the Second Seminole War (1835-1842) through recent engagements in Iraq and Afghanistan. By creating a designated area in the Cemetery for future Veteran burials, we are ensuring that there will always be a revered final-resting place for these treasured Americans.
A serene site for the Veterans Monument and Veterans Yard has been selected, which will not only be a place of reflection, peace and tranquility, but also be a place of patriotic celebration. Evergreen Cemetery annually hosts ceremonies on Memorial Day and Veterans Day to pay tribute to members of our armed forces and their families. When this project is completed, these special events and others will take place at this place of honor and remembrance.
